Terms of Service
Terms covering assessments, quotations and audio restoration work.
Last updated: 27 July 2026
1. About These Terms
These terms apply to assessments, quotations and audio restoration services supplied by Polymiq Audio Lab. By submitting a recording, requesting an assessment or accepting a quotation, you agree to these terms.
2. Free Assessments
An assessment is preliminary and based on the material you provide at the time of review.
- It does not guarantee a particular result on the full recording or on different files.
- A quotation is based on the condition, length and scope of the material assessed.
- New problems, additional files or a changed brief may require a revised quotation.
3. Quotations
A quotation explains what is included in the agreed scope of work. Work begins only after you accept the quotation.
Any change in scope, file length, condition or requested deliverables may change the price and timetable.
Quotation validity period: [CONFIRM QUOTATION VALIDITY PERIOD]
4. Customer Responsibilities
By submitting material, you confirm that:
- You own the recording or have permission to submit it
- The material does not infringe another person’s rights
- You have permission to authorise restoration work
- You provide accurate contact and project information
- You provide usable source files or explain any transfer limitations
- You keep your own backup copies of original material
5. Restoration Limitations
Restoration results depend on the original recording. In particular:
- Missing information cannot always be recreated
- Speech completely masked by noise may not be recoverable
- Clipping, distortion, echo, dropouts or severe damage may remain partly audible
- Examples on this website are illustrations only and are not guarantees of identical results
- Polymiq Audio Lab prioritises natural improvement over aggressive processing
6. Payment
Payment is due: [CONFIRM WHEN PAYMENT IS DUE]
Deposit requirement: [CONFIRM DEPOSIT REQUIREMENT]
Accepted payment methods: [CONFIRM PAYMENT METHOD]
VAT status: [CONFIRM VAT STATUS]
Late payment may delay delivery or pause work until payment is received.
7. Turnaround
Turnaround estimates begin after the required files and any agreed payment or deposit have been received.
Timelines are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing. Large, damaged or complex projects may require more time.
Delays caused by missing files, customer changes, unclear instructions or third-party transfer issues may fall outside the original estimate.
8. Revisions
Revision policy: [CONFIRM REVISION POLICY]
Requests outside the agreed scope, or changes that require substantial additional work, may be quoted separately.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
You may cancel before work starts. If work has already begun, charges may apply for assessment time or completed work.
Custom restoration work may not be refundable once completed and accepted, subject to applicable consumer rights.
Cancellation process: [CONFIRM CANCELLATION PROCESS]
Nothing in these terms removes statutory rights that apply to you as a consumer.
10. Delivery
Completed files are delivered electronically, usually by email, download link or another agreed transfer method.
You should download and check files promptly and keep your own backup copies. Polymiq Audio Lab is not a permanent archive service.
11. File Retention and Deletion
Assessment files are kept for: [CONFIRM ASSESSMENT FILE RETENTION PERIOD]
Project files are kept for: [CONFIRM PROJECT FILE RETENTION PERIOD]
12. Confidentiality
Customer files are treated confidentially. Files are not published or used for marketing, portfolio or results content without permission.
NDAs may be accepted where agreed in writing.
13. Intellectual Property
You retain rights in your original recordings. Polymiq Audio Lab retains rights in its methods, workflows, business materials and know-how.
Restored files are supplied for your authorised use. These terms do not transfer rights you do not already own.
14. Liability
You remain responsible for keeping backups and for lawful use of restored material.
Polymiq Audio Lab is not responsible for pre-existing damage contained in source files.
To the extent permitted by law, liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant service, except where a higher limit is required by law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
15. Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
16. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales shall have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections that may apply where you live.
